Child Psychology
What is going on in my child's head? How can I help my child? And am I actually doing it right? When your child is struggling, you, as a caregiver, can feel quite insecure about your role. That is understandable, because as a parent, you want to do everything to help your child. It is precisely then that it is frustrating when you cannot seem to get through to your child. Our child and adolescent psychologists help you and your child with this.

Family therapy
Is your family struggling? Are things heading in the wrong direction, and are unpleasant events threatening to disrupt your family? Whatever the reason, as a parent, you naturally want nothing more than to maintain control of the situation and provide your children with a safe home environment. A solid foundation to build upon. There is no manual for this, and it is perfectly fine if you cannot figure it out on your own. Our practitioners are here to help your family!

Trauma therapy
A shocking event in your life can leave a deep impression on you. After a trauma, you want to quickly regain that safe and familiar feeling. Usually, processing a trauma happens naturally, and only the memory remains. However, if you try to move on too quickly or have suppressed your trauma, unprocessed emotions will resurface later. You feel tired, irritable, gloomy, and angry. Mental World is happy to help you overcome your trauma.

Burnout therapy
Being overstrained or experiencing burnout is intense and has a huge impact on your body and mind. When someone is overstrained, they are in the preliminary stage of a burnout situation. Relying on perseverance and/or adrenaline, they can still hold out for a while. However, if no solution is found and the stress persists for longer (more than 6 months), the body and mind can become totally exhausted and “burned out”; hence the name. Burnout signals can vary from person to person. We have listed a number of them for you.

Anxiety therapy
Fear is an emotion. It makes you alert to danger, gives you control, and provides a sense of security. Is this emotion much greater than the actual threat? Then you are dealing with an anxiety disorder and you are losing your grip on your life. With anxiety therapy, we ensure that you can let go of your fear slowly but surely. And just as important: that you receive something beautiful in return. Because when your fear disappears, something deserves to take its place.

Relationship therapy
Your relationship is the cement of your life. Together you stand strong, and that gives your life purpose and meaning. But what if you feel that solid ground slowly slipping away from under your feet? What if you are no longer on the same page? If your relationship costs more energy than it yields due to arguments or disagreements? When you no longer see each other because of ingrained patterns? Break those patterns and get to know each other again.

Negative self-image
Being critical of yourself is a good quality. But what if you struggle with a negative self-image? If you feel like everything you tackle slips through your fingers? Then it is important to break that negative spiral. If you talk to us about this, you have already taken the most important step! You will soon feel better about yourself again.

Hypnotherapy
Sometimes it is necessary to go a step further to treat your complaint. For example, through your subconscious. With hypnotherapy, we teach you to use the power of your subconscious again and to unravel your problems and complaints. We only start hypnotherapy with you in the third session. Because for hypnotherapy to succeed, it is important to get to know each other better first and build a bond of trust together.

Depression therapy
Have you been feeling gloomy or downcast for a long time, and is this affecting the life you lead? Then you might be suffering from depression. Of course, it is very difficult for you to determine for yourself if that is really the case. Don't walk around with your symptoms; come and see us for a consultation. We will provide clarity regarding your personal situation and help you take a step in the right direction.
You cannot come to us for:
• Diagnosis of developmental disorders ASD
• Neuropsychological examination
• Persistent patterns that are woven into the personality and require a longer process or more specialized treatment.
• Eating disorders, including mild binge eating disorder.
• Crisis vulnerability and/or acute suicidality requiring 24-hour care and/or availability.
• Follow-up or (post-)treatment for addiction problems
• Psychotic symptoms
• Intellectual disability (IQ lower than 80)
• Chronic or recurring psychiatric problems, such as bipolar disorder or chronic
• Prolonged early childhood trauma.
• People who need more intensive treatment than a session once a week or once every two weeks.
• A stable environment is lacking (due to debt, lack of a home or place of residence, lack of safety), meaning that this requires the necessary attention first.
